Transition Training and Consulting - services for businesses and organisations
Transition Training and Consulting (part of the Transition Network, and incorporating what was previously known as Transition Training) already offers training to individuals and communities - many of you will have attended the Training for Transition course.
Now we're starting to offer transition-related services for businesses and other organisations in our transition communities. These services will be delivered by the TTandC Practitioner Network, a community of trainers and consultants based in local transition initiatives, who work in a professional, commercial capacity.
Why are we working with businesses and organisations?
Building resilience among individuals and communities is only half the story of meeting the challenges of peak oil, climate change and economic security. Organisations, whether they are in the public, private or third/voluntary sectors, are no more than groups of people working together in pursuit of a particular purpose. They are located within, and interact directly with, our local communities. We might not always completely agree with their purpose or how they go about achieving it today, but we believe that their taking up the transition model, or similar, is vital for all of our tomorrows.
We believe that they need to find their own paths to a resilient future, and soon... and that we can help them if they ask us to.
We are aware that not everyone in the transition movement shares this perspective particularly with regard to working with larger commercial businesses. See the more detailed reasoning for our decision and participate in this debate if you wish.
Which services does TTandC offer?
All of the information about our approach and our services, including downloadable service overviews and case studies, can be found at our 'external facing' website at www.ttandc.org.uk.
How you can get involved?
TTandC is building a Practitioner Network (P-Net), a community of trainers and consultants that work across Scotland, Ireland, Wales & England - and possibly beyond - delivering transition-related products and services to businesses and organisations in a professional, commercial capacity. Entry to the P-Net is only through a practitioner training or train-the-trainer courses, or through significant contribution to service development.
At this moment we are only offering practitioner training in the Energy Resilience Assessment service - see here for any upcoming training dates.
How can you find out more about TTandC?
