About

We started the group in September 2010, and as of March 2011 we're an official Transition Initiative.

It's been a roller-coaster but we're stable and established now. We have regular open monthly meetings tho they are usually attended by a regular core of usual suspects, see our website and facebook group for more details

We have an allotment working on permaculture principles which is producing oodles of organic food thanks to a committed small team.

We're doing a slow but steady job of working with local government, most inroads are made via personal contacts rather than official channels ... whatever works!

Chelmsford has an annual Idea's Festival (similar to Cambridge but smaller) and TTC has a strong presence there. The festival co-ordinator is one of our own.

Projects that we're presently excited about are a local food map, a local food day at the idea's festival (IF), and making our own apple pulper. The latter hopefully completed in time for the IF so that we can pulp and press apples for juice.
