Village Surrey Transition Initiative is a group of Surrey, BC residents concerned about the impact in our community of Climate Change, Peak Oil and a mix of other factors including global economic recession.
Ours is an inclusive and diverse group that welcomes people from all walks of life, ages and environments. The only requisites are:
Interested in creating awareness, connecting with other “transitioners” and people concerned about Peak Oil, Climate Change, Social Justice, Sustainability and a fair and sensible economy based on Real Needs of Local Communities and not on the “market”.
Grew up going to CND and other marches in 80's. Involved in the No M11 and other road campaigns. Volunteer with EcoLocal throughout the 1990's working on various Local Agenda 21 sustainability projects. www.ecolocal.org.uk/. Stood as a local Green Party in the 90's. Involvement in organising Sutton Environmental Fair since 1993.
