 I have been interested in environmental issues for over 30 years. I have a BA in Environmental Studies with a minor in Leisure Studies and a Master's in Regional Planning. I have worked in municipal and regional planning and now work on sustainable housing issues as a Realtor and Government Affairs committeemember. I'm a trip leader and Information Volunteer with the Appalachian Mountain Club and do publicity for the Berkshire Chapter of AMC.

El Manzano is a small resilient rural village leading the way in the Bío-Bío region of Chile. The community is in the midst of a participatory planning process, tweaking the Transition Towns process for its Chilean context, to determine its own destiny.
