Kent Transition - County-wide network experience sought

A number of transition groups are at the early stage of discussing what a 'Transition Kent' County network group between 8-9 groups in the County would look like.

It would be great if any others have done a similar exercise (or not!) could share their experiences.

We have all been very cautious about this step but now feel it is time to have a proper chat.

 We held a first public meeting, with around 60 in attendance, including local MP, in September 2010. One speaker was Steve Plater, explaining the Transition theory and the experiences from Sevenoaks. The driving force has been the Shepway branch of the Green Party but we are just 'giving birth' to the scheme, we recognise that it is not political.

My parents were original members of the Ecology Party and sustainability has been important throughout my life.  One of my 18th birthday presents was a subscription to Earth Matters (Friends of the Earth magazine) which I still look forward to receiving (hrrrmph) years later.

Now I have a portfolio career.  I work a couple of days a week for BT (who are trying to be green), I am on secondment from BT to the Cardinal Hume Centre in London for six months to write and implement their internet and social media strategy.
