Has your local council signed up to the Covenant of Mayors?

 Our local authority is considering signing up to the "Covenant of Mayors", a European-wide cooperation initiative under which LAs voluntarily commit to increasing energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy. We (Transition Poole) have been asked what we think. Has anyone else had experience of the Covenant in practice.

Oxford University’s Prof. Peter Helm saying ‘We are awash with fossil fuels’ . The argument is that with new drilling technology, shale gas and underground coal gasification has turned ‘hard to get’ fossil fuels into ‘easy to get’ fossil fuels:
