The era of cheap energy is ending due to the depletion of low cost fossil fuel deposits. First effects are being felt in Europe in significantly higher fuel and chemical prices, in the recent large impacts on energy markets of political instability in oil & gas exporters, and the apparition of oil-shock measures not seen in Europe since the 1970s.

Marina runs a 4 acres organic market garden growing fruit, flowers salads and preserves, that is sold into the Growing communities farmers market in Stoke Newington Hackney. She is director of the Apricot centre on the farm which delivers training in sustainability; permaculture, process work and Transition training in particular. The farm is a demonstration permaculture site.
A retired agronomist, who has always believed in "Small is Beautiful", but has only recently come to embrace the chemical free approach to food growing.
Friendly, open-minded, slightly bald. I'm a social media consultant with a background in web marketing and managing websites. I live in Northern Ireland, having moved here with my wife in 2010 after 12 years in London. We plan to engage ourselves increasingly in the community and ecology now that we're here and out of the city.
