Aims:

RODA DA TRANSIÇÃO

Encontros Mensais de Coimbra em Transição em regime Rotativo (EMR)

A comunidade de Coimbra em Transição decidiu promover durante 2011 os “Encontros Mensais Rotativos” com o objectivo de fortalecer a rede local.

Cada Membro pode propor um tema e local. A organização é feita pelo anfitrião e uma equipa de voluntários. O processo quer-se auto-sustentável, orgânico e intuitivo, resultado da vontade dos proponentes e participantes.

O objectivo é a partilha da transformação pessoal e comunitária através de actividades práticas ligadas à permacultura, que beneficiem todos os envolvidos e promovam a coesão e a participação activa.

No final de cada encontro os membros avaliam o Encontro e propõe-se o seguinte.

TRANSITION CIRCLE

Rotational Coimbra in Transition Monthly Meetings (RMM)

Coimbra in Transition community has decided to promote during 2011 the “Rotational Monthly Meetings” to strengthen local network.

Each Member can propose a Theme and Venue. The organization is decided by the host and voluntaries can contribute to it. The process aims to be self-sustainable, organic and intuitive, resulting from proponents and participants will.

The main goal is to share personal and communitarian transformation through activities related to Social intervention and Permaculture, which may benefit all those involved and promote cohesion and active participation.

At the end of each meeting, participants will evaluate the activities and propose the following RMM.

Inspiration:

The model of communitarian participation and informal learning for a self-sustainable network

Outcomes so far:

Three successful meetings with increasing number of participants

Unexpected outcomes:

too soon yet...

Obstacles, and how we overcame them:

Communication during preparation of meetings through internet, due to some IT iliteracy from some of the members.

Also training about Transition was identified as a need. We already have contacted our National Hub for support.

Lessons learned:

Everybody has a point. We need to learn how to listen and how to share in a more efficient way.

Sources of funding:

No funding. Each one is evaluating their own financial availability. However some of Coimbra in Transition wish to stablish a local currency for these events to fund other Projects.

Sources of materials:

Each organizer/host supplies most of materials. Each participant is invited to bring food, tools or to give some labour hours.

EMR Realizados:

I) VIL DE MATOS, 29 de Janeiro de 2011 – No âmbito do trabalho da Kriscer ONGD ligado à Cidadania Activa, em parceria com a junta de Freguesia de Vil de Matos, um grupo de 11 pessoas reuniu-se para avaliar as condições de colaboração com a comunidade local e definir a estratégia de desenvolvimento da Iniciativa de Transição de Coimbra.

II) Penela, 27 de Fevereiro de 2011 – No terreno da Paula Santos, sito na encosta nascente do castelo de Penela, juntaram-se 20 membros de Coimbra em Transição para uma tarde de poda e descoberta. Os esclarecimentos e demonstrações foram conduzidos pela Rosa Rodrigues, agricultora biológica através de práticas agrícolas diferenciadas: poda de oliveiras, pessegueiros e figueiras, leguminosas, ervas silvestres, aromáticas e medicinais. No final houve tempo para a meditação pela mão de Jutta Weiske em casa da Patrícia Miguel, com a leitura de um capítulo do livro de Eckhart Tolle “Um Novo Mundo”.

Pelo grande entusiasmo dos participantes agendou-se o 3º encontro de Coimbra em Transição, para o dia 20 de Março, no Jardim Botânico de no âmbito do projecto “Horta do Botânico” e com o tema, Festa da Abóbora.

III) Jardim Botânico de Coimbra, 22 de Março de 2011 - RENASCER IDEIAS COM ABÓBORA foi o tema do III Encontro de Coimbra em Transição, organizado pela Horta do Botânico (Plataforma Perma-D) e Coimbra em Transição. Oficinas de Culinária e Almoço Convívio juntaram cerca de 50 pessoas e tiveram a contribuição de nove monitores-cozinheiros. Um livro de receitas foi publicado e distribuído a todos os convivas, que participaram na confecção dos diferentes pratos com abóbora, numa celebração da Primavera, numa família alargada. Annelieke van der Sluijs e Paula Santos organizaram o evento.

No final, acolheram-se novos membros numa conversa em roda sobre a transição e permacultura em Coimbra. O IV Encontro ficou agendado para o 1º Maio, no terreno do Paulo e Cristina Silva, em Cernache para a construção de uma casa-de-banho seca. Os pormenores da organização estão em curso.

Within KRISCER NGO work for Active Citizenship, in partnership with Junta de Freguesia de Vil de Matos, 11 people met to evaluate local collaboration conditions and to define Coimbra in Transition strategy.

II.PENELA, 27th February 2011

Paula Santos hosted the second RMM at her land in Penela, located in a beautiful landscape on the Eastern hill of Penela’s Castle. 20 people attended the meeting to learn about pruning orchards and to recognize wild herbs.

At the end, a Meditation circle took place guided by Jutta Weiske with the reading of Eckhart Tolle book “A new world”.

The third RMM was scheduled enthusiastically by all participants for the 20th March, within the Botanical Garden project, under the theme of “Pumpkin Feast”.

III. COIMBRA’S BOTANICAL GARDEN, 22nd March 2011

“Renewing Ideas with Pumpkin” was the theme of the third RMM, organized by Perma-D Platform and Coimbra in Transition. Cooking workshops and a Lunch Feast gathered over 50 people and had the contribution of nine “trainer-chefs”. A recipe book was published and delivered to the participants, which had the opportunity to take part in pumpkin cooking, celebrating the beginning of Spring and the new enlarged family. Annelieke van der Sluijs and Paula Santos were the organizers.

In the end, newcomers were invited to a circle debate about Transition and Permaculture in Coimbra. The 4th RMM was decided to take place at Cristina and Paulo’s place, on 1st May, to build a dry WC and to debate the organization of Transition Community.
