Project Aim

We aim to recruit, train and support 71 Energy Expert Neighbours (EEN's) in the market town of Belper. The 71 EEN's will cover a street (Census Output Area) each, giving advice encouragement and support to neighbours on all matters relating to energy consumption.

Our aim is to make a reduction in the overall Carbon Footprint of Belper but we are focussing our efforts on residents who may fall in to the category of Fuel Poverty or vulnerable.

We want to position ourselves to be the point of contact for advice and signposting to exisiting support schemes and the new Green Deal.

Further details

Each of the 71 trained Energy Expert Neighbours (EEN's) in the market town of Belper will cover a street (Census Output Area) each, giving advice encouragement and support to neighbours on all matters relating to energy consumption or renewable energy generation.

The initial group of EEN's are already actively involved in and advice and support scheme (including the fitting of free draughtproofing materials) for off gas properties in the Belper area, in partnership with Groundwork.

We have also been selected by the NEA as one of 10 UK pilot projects to help roll out the new Green Deal and ECO schemes.
