Project Aim

Earthway Experience is a Permaculture Demonstration and Learning Center.

We are using the principles of Permaculture to enhance our site on Lake Siljan as well as at our home in Leksand. Using these principles we care for the land and environment (local birds, bees, butterflies and other wildlife), we care for ourselves, by eating organically and locally grown food and we give away the excess - no waste!

Come visit this unique Permaculture site located on Lake Siljan -
called one of the most beautiful lakes in all of Europe.

Further details

Permaculture is the central theme of our Permaculture Demonstration Center.

Earthway Experience is using Permaculture to enhance our site on Lake Siljan as well as at our home in Leksand. Using Permaculture principles we care for the land and environment (local birds, bees, butterflies and other wildlife), we care for ourselves, by eating organically and locally grown food and we give away the excess - no waste!

This unique Eco-Center is located on Lake Siljan -
called one of the most beautiful lakes in all of Europe.

After a day in Dalarnas nature one can clean themselves both physically and mentally in a log sauna house.

We have no electricity or running water in the area, except for the stream running through the area! We have solar panels and are planning on using wind power as well.

Especially in light of climate change, we want to let people experience another more simple way of living.

We welcome individuals, families, school groups as well as corporate conferences.

Inspiration

This has been in "the making" for many years. Have spent many years learning primitive skills and living in Alaska. Organic gardening now turning to permaculture. Native American spirituality from many years studying and learning from Lakota elders.

Outcomes so far

Using WWOOF to get volunteers very successful. Much progress done last two years.

Obstacles, and how we overcame them

Slow progress
