Sam Woods

Sam is an environmental consultant and active member of the Transition Movement. Based in Leicestershire, she tries to work as close to home as possible. Previously Sam worked as an ISO 14001 certifier with Bureau Veritas, mainly in North Asia and Eastern Europe. She wsa also responsible for developing BV's range of training courses for environmental certification auditors in the mid-1990s and delivered this training world wide. Her former clients include Samsung Electronics and Goodyear.

On returning to the UK, Sam  put her flying days behind her and took a break from environmental consultancy to work in arts development and event management, working first as an Event Manager for the Matlock Bath Illuminations and later at the theatre at Loughborough Town Hall.

She returned to the environmental field three years ago and now maintains a select portfolio of clients for whom she develops ISO 14001 environmental management systems and works on integration of transition principles into the wider business arena. She is also an active member of the Leicester Transition Steering group and a Home Educating single parent. Her interests include permaculture, nurturing organisational change through inner and outer transition, developing systems which work for real and autonomous education.

Her current clients include a nember of Local Authorities as well as private companies.
