About Raven Gray
I’m the co-founder and President of Transition US, an organization which supports the emergence of the Transition Movement across the States, and I am also a pioneer of the movement in the UK, having set up Transition Penwith, the world’s second "official" Transition Initiative after Transition Town Totnes.
An ecological designer, educator, activist and organizer, I’m fired to inspire people to restore the vibrancy and resilience back into our lives and communities. I’ve had an eclectic history from being an organic dairy farmer, ecovillage educator, community arts activist, permaculture teacher and software entrepreneur. I am consciously committed to bringing people back into balance with our wild and wonderful world.
I received a BA in Culture, Ecology and Sustainable Community from New College, California, and an MSc in Holistic Science: Ecological Education from Schumacher College in the UK.
I live in a permaculture oasis, with my two year old son, and Merlin the cat, tucked into the forests and meadows of West Marin, surrounded by the beauty and bounty of nature.
