About michelle cunningham

Greenville is a great place to live as far as “green” cities go. We have many transportation options and most people live within walking distance of shopping, schools and other establishments. We have farmer’s markets and other local growers that can be found throughout the city selling there items. I have even seen many homes in my neighborhood that are growing or attempting to grow food. I have noticed many individuals’ making efforts toward a more sustainable lifestyle and just thought that it would be great to have a community of people to share in these efforts. I am interested in the work being done in Transition Towns http://www.transition... and have even begun the process to get Greenville on their map. I have been inspired by families like the Dervaes at http://urbanhomestead.... No matter what your reason be it financial, social, ecological, etc. everyone can benefit from a community that helps one another and not to mention all the fun you can have too! These are just some of the ideas I am interested in, and I would love to know what others are interested in and what we want to start out focusing on.

Growing food (food security, healthier living)
Safety (it is good to have your neighbors back)
Emergency’s (weather, health, etc.)
Share programs (trade, barter, child care exchange)
Recycle, composting
Energy and transportation alternatives
Learning new skills, crafts (soaps, candles, homemade items)
Seed/plant exchanges
Simple living, organic life style, mindfulness
Diversity
Walking groups, yoga, meditation, holistic medicine
JUST TO NAME A FEW!
