About Marella Fyffe

Marella Fyffe is a native of Co. Kildare Republic of Ireland, she moved to Omagh Northern Ireland in 1985 where she now lives with her husband and three children.   Marella’s first degree is in business and management from Queens Belfast, she also has  a post grad in environmental decision making from the OU.

She has numerous others qualifications and work experience in community , environmental management, business, and voluntary sector also  peace building, ecotourism and horticulture and more recently has gained her teachers certificate in permaculture and her applied design certificate in permaculture . She is currently starting her diploma in permaculture Sept 2010. Marella edited the Organic Guide for Ireland in association with Organic Center in Leitrim and the Soil Association UK. 2009/2010

On a day-to-day basis environmental concern and implication for local community is her main focus and she is constantly trying out new approaches as to how her own local community can respond to the challenge and the opportunities of peak oil and climate change whilst building resilience.

On a practical level, she  finds that one of the biggest challenges is balancing time input into business, community, and environement  with family commitments. However she is kept motivated by making sure that her contribution continues to bring pleasure to others and by achieving success where others said it could not be done.

Ok that's the "businessey" bit . Heres the me bit ....

I love life , I have a great sense of humour , I am passionate about the ordinary everyday things such as growing my own vegetables , being there for my children, Ansuara yoga, walking in my bare feet, ceilidh-ing (irish, for meeting and talking with folk.)  I also like being involved with my local community , am very interested in peace in Northern Ireland, women's issues. I love good food  that is locally sourced cooked intuitively and enjoy a glass of wine.
