I'm presently going to live in the mountains (above 1000 m s.l.) with my family (we have 2 sons and a daughter in their teens) as a chance to be "energetically independent" using wood from our woodland as primary fuel and gardening according to permaculture principles. There they live a few families who basically do the same as we intend to and we plan to find as many synergies as possible with them. It might leed all of us to create an unformal "transition group" in a particular environment as mountains in northern Italy are. I really would like to keep in touch and to learn from your experience.
