About Mandy Meikle
I have been giving talks on 'peak oil' ('peak energy' is more accurate) since 2004. I live 25 miles from Edinburgh and am a transitioner-without-initiative (see http://www.transitionnetwork.org/stories/guest-blogger/2012-04/rebel-wit...). In addition to energy (see http://www.transitionnetwork.org/stories/guest-blogger/2012-02/peak-oil-...), I'm also interested in local food production and how to work with 'deprived' communities. Transition is for all, not just so-called middle class greens.
Sadly, I am still addicted to money and have two part-time jobs: one I love while the other is a reminder that I'm addicted to money! During term time, I work as a student support assistant which mostly consists of taking notes for students with a disability. I also work in a local supermarket, which has its uses (see http://www.transitionnetwork.org/stories/guest-blogger/2012-03/hello-jus...). My last post as a Guest Blogger was an interview with Eva Schonveld (http://www.transitionnetwork.org/stories/guest-blogger/2012-05/chance-enough) and as of June 2012, I'm an official Social Reporter! I have my own blog which I am embarrassingly bad at updating - http://mandymeikle.wordpress.com/ - feel free to say hello!
