About Laura Whitehead
I am the ‘Webmaster’ for Transition Network, and my role is to work with supporting users and enhancing the website. I’m also one of the Transition Technologists team acting as the front end designer/developer for the site. In addition from April - September 2012, I'll be acting as overall Web Coordinator for Transition Network combinig both the Webmaster role and the Web projects and Strategy role on behalf of Ed Mitchell as he's off for a few months on sabbatical.
My background has involved a vibrant mix of working within the non-profit sector, especially in the areas of knowledge and information management, and supporting organisations to embrace ‘modern fangled media’ to connect and communicate; along with a healthy blend of working for and with environmental organisations in a hands on role, with practical habitat management and conservation.
I’ve recently moved from a village into the town of Newton Abbot in Devon. I like walking, photography, gardening, birds and bugs, as well as nurturing my young sons and an assortment of pets.
