About Helen Taylor
I buy organic food whenever I can, cook everything from scratch, have sold the tumble dryer, grow food in my yard, hope for an allotment, have kept chickens and will again. I have three children, live in an ex-mining village in Co Durham and we have no CH or hot water except the shower. We are owned by a cat, and have two demanding dogs. We still manage to have a great life.
I use the bus, don't have a car, I sacked it in summer 2010. I shop with my own bags, have all the food delivered to the door, use night-time electricity and I'm currently adjusting to live with a huge washing machine that means my washing load is now two loads rather than six. Actually too large to fit on the washing line in the yard!
I am at war with nits (losing) and the lazy profligate people who live in this village who use their cars to drive half way across it several times a day (ongoing, hopeful).
I'm a moderator on The Green Living Forum which had it's inception as The It's Not Easy Being Green forum, born from the TV programme of the same name. We have over 5 thousand members, and always have a warm welcome for more.
I don't do twitter or facebook, sorry. Or rather do have a twitter account but forget to. Twitter, that is.
