Eastleigh Network

 Changes lie ahead for all of us.

We have to respond to various effects of a changing climate, depletion of fossil fuel (oil, gas and coal) – “peak oil”, economic uncertainties, human population growth in a finite world, environmental damage and loss of wildlife species.

For the last 50 years, our world has been based on cheap oil which will soon be much less available.  We can’t carry on as usual - even if we wanted to. 

The Transition movement is where local people take the initiative in preparing for changes ahead. Lots of towns are now part of the Transition Network; that is our intention for the borough of Eastleigh.

We aim to harness local knowledge, interests, hobbies, skills - and networks of friends - to support and help our local community to be better
