About David Allen
I have worked in a university science dept since 1994, teaching undergraduates and dealing with the logistical problems of running practical classes. For the past few years I’ve been studying and practicing counselling, finally graduating this year (2010). I first found out about peak oil during my time in counselling training, and I’ve been following the debates ever since. Having finished my training, I’ve now stopped counselling, and I am now trying to put the combination of both my science and counselling/psychology background into use in helping myself and others cope with the changes and challenges ahead. I firmly believe that acceptance (of self and others), empathy, and honesty are crucial if we are to move forward. I completed a permaculture design course this summer, and found myself enriched and inspired by the (sadly) uncommon sense of it all.
