About Ben Wielgus
Hi,
Having evactuated from the big smoke to North Nottinghamshire about a year ago I've realised both myself and my wife haven't gotten to know the neighbours or the community anywhere near as well as we'd like. Part of the reason for moving out to the countryside was to seek a greater sense of community and get closer to the land and to nature.
She works in food and diet for the NHS and I work for a large business consultancy specialising in sustainability, particulary carbon footprinting, measurement, reporting, validation and embedding of sustainability strategy. A lot of this involves working with data but increasingly I find myself facilitating large workshops and conducting interviews with a lot of senior people.
I'm also currently half way through a Masters in Sustainability (2011) and its made me even more conscious of the urgency in doing something about the upcoming challenges to society. I'm hoping the Transition Network will help me find similarly minded people and groups so that I can contribute towards the community activities.
Please do get in touch if you want to talk.
Ben
