About

Transition Town Triangle Plus (TTT+) covers the villages - Bermagui, Tilba, Cobargo and Quaama and also the area north to the town of Narooma.  It is a rural, coastal area with State Forests and National Parks.

There are on-going protests about logging in the State Forest, particularly in areas where there are remnant koala populations. Links to two of the forest actions are on YouTube: fuscpies  'Music to destroy forests by'  is the Bega String Quartet playing in the forest  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GN628pMB3U8&feature=related; Solomonrosemiri video is a choir of 120 people singing in the forest on Sunday 16th May  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdGpqq3MreY. About 300 people attended this event - the following day (Monday) at the blockade three people chained themselves to logging equipment and were arrested. They included a Bega Valley Shire Councillor.

It is a very beautiful fertile area that we think could be self sufficient in food production, and Transition Town Triangle Plus assisted in establishing the Tilba Growers Market to promote this. We also helped to establish the Narooma Community Garden in the local primary school (see attached file below).

In April 2011 TTT+ and Clean Energy for Eternity hosted a presentation by Beyond Zero Emissions to promote their roadmap for providing 100% renewable energy to Australia in 10 years. More information about BZE and their work is available at http://www.beyondzeroemissions.org.
