Teeswater

Transition Teeswater is a fledging initiative.  We do not have a set meeting location as yet but we can be contacted by email through transitionteeswater@reyouzd.com We have 4 transition-trained individuals forming part of the steering committee.  We have held viewings of The End of Suburbia, The Power of Community, have held a Clothing Swap and a 100 Mile Pot Luck.  With the assistance of one of the trainers who is engaged in a Sustainable Local Food program, Transition Teeswater is working to bring food producers in the area together to explore the potential of a Local Food Buying Club.

Teeswater, Ontario is a particularly rich example of community participation.  This community of about 1200 is home to 5 cooperatives including Gay Lea Foods, Huron Bay Cooperative Inc, The Ontario Dairy Goat Cooperative, River Village Market Cooperative, and FS Fuel Supply.
