Tavistock

 Transition Tavistock is based around the market town of Tavistock and its surrounding parishes.  Having set up an organisational infrastructure during our first year, we are now moving into the 'action' phase with new Energy and Food groups meeting regularly and getting practical projects off the ground.  Transport, Waste, Community and Communication have also been identified as priority areas of interest.  Taking on board the ideas outlined in the Transition Handbook, we also have a committee to manage aspects of Transition Tavistock (mainly the more tedious aspects such as bank account and insurance!)

We have shown films, had a stall at the Farmers' Market, held a public Open Space event and our first AGM, and are currently planning a programme of events to raise our local profile further.  

We have a website (see below) and also host Green Drinks, an opportunity to meet informally with other people who are interested in environmental issues.  You would be welcome to come along; we meet in the Market Inn, Whitchurch Rd at 7.30 on the second Tuesday of each month.
