About

Welcome to Transition Town Tamborine Mountain - Creating Community Resilience for a Low Carbon Future

Our 'Island in the Sky'.

With rich volcanic soils, a local food network, self-reliance in terms of water and waste-management, a natural population cap, clean air, good rainfall, cool temperatures and abundant sunshine, Tamborine Mountain is ideally suited to be a Transition Town, engaging the community in designing a vibrant low energy future to face the twin challenges of Peak Oil and Climate Change.

Please join us and participate in the process.

Activities

Throughout the year we screen documentaries, host public meetings, run Sustainable Living workshops, and are preparing to launch a community-created Sustainability Action Plan. Please register on this site to receive details of all upcoming events so you can participate in and contribute to the challenging process of making our community more resilient.

Sustainability Action Plan - Our EDAP was launched in August 2011 and there are projects underway in the areas of Communications, Food and Energy.
