About

Mendocino Coast Transition Towns organizes the community along the Mendocino Coast to raise the level of awareness about the need for citizen action to create a thriving community that is both local and ecologicall sustainable, as well as resilient in the midst of many upcoming changes.

Building on and incorporating the work that's already been done by the community, we bring people together to work collectively on projects in response to: peak oil, climate change, species extinction, toxic pollution, the unreliability of the food system, and the fragility of our economy.

We create, and periodically update, a new shared vision for a local, sustainable, and resilient economy. We inspire and organize the community to join us in working on projects which manifest this same vision.
