About

We are the Lehigh Valley Local Coordinating Hub serving as a coordinating center for Transition Initiatives throughout the Lehigh Valley.  We're committed to providing encouragement and support for these initiatives in local communities – so that each community can “be the change”.

Let us know if you or a group is interested in forming a local Transition initiative in the Lehigh Valley and we can offer support.  If you would like to take part in some of our awareness raising events, we screen films about the crises at hand, have discussions and open space events, and we do presentations about the Transition Movement and the model of community change that it offers.  For more specific information, check our calendar at http://www.sustainlv.org/calendar/, call us at 484-851-3910 or email us at transitionslv@sustainlv.org.

This is a critical year for facing up to our predicament. We believe that implementing the Transition model will effectively respond to the challenges of climate change, peak oil and economic instability. We’re treating this as the Year for Crossing the Transition Threshold.

To facilitate the formation of local initiatives, and to celebrate life on earth, we are planning a major Lehigh Valley Earth Days event in 2012. We think it may turn out to be a momentous community rite of passage expressing our commitment to local resilience.

The Transitions Working Group meets Fridays 8–10am to develop plans at

Morning Star Center, 1966 Creek Road, Bethlehem, PA  18015
