So far ‘Transition Keynsham’ is a collective of individuals who have been inspired by the Transition movement and in particular the activities of Transition Bath. We hope to join in this global phenomenon by planning a positive future for Keynsham in a world without cheap energy, aiming to help build a more localised economy, collect and develop traditional and modern skills, and re-establish local resource resilience for the wellbeing of everyone. Acting local thinking global!
In the last few months we have guerilla gardened, started a garden share scheme matching unused gardens with gardeners, co-hosted an energy-free acoustic & poetry candle-lit evening at Oxfam, created a mini fruit + veg community patch, held free bike maintenance sessions at the farmers market, supported a plastic-bag-free-Keynsham campaign, set up a monthly stitch and bitch group and much, much more!
