About

The Transition Houston Hub is the 40th official Transition Initiative in the US. We usually meet on the first Tuesday of each month, 7-9PM, at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 2353 Rice Blvd., Houston, 77005, at the corner of Rice Blvd. and Greenbriar.  Our meetings include a 1.5 hour business and/or guest speaker session, followed by a .5+ hour refreshment and conversation time.

We are evolving our organization from Initiating Team to a Core Team composed of represtentatives of Action Groups and Neighborhood Initiatives.  Active Action Groups include Energy, Transportation, Permablitz, and Media/Outreach, and Transition Neighborhoods include Japhet Creek, Midtown, Old Sixth Ward, Heights, Woodlands, Clear Lake, Rice, and Westwood.  We encourage and support the formation of new neighborhood initiatives not currently represented.

Among our activities are monthly meetings (often with guest speakers), potlucks, nearly-monthly permablitzes during the cool season, and a Green Film Series in partnership with other organizations (Emerging Professionals of the Houston USGBC Chapter, Rice Environmental Club, and Houston Tomorrow).

We appreciate your interest and welcome your participation!
