Havant
About
Havant is a large Borough made up of several old towns and villages, newer communities, harbours and an island. It is a place of contrasts: the town of Havant features in the Domesday Book, yet Leigh Park was only built in the 1950s to house bombed-out residents of Portsmouth; it is densely populated yet its coastline is a Site of Special Scientific Interest; it is sliced by motorways and well endowed with superstores yet it is fringed by a lovely remnant of the Forest of Bere. Altogether an interesting place in which to start a Transition project.
