Erewash and Amber Valley Environmental Network (Eaven)

Eaven developed out of disquiet at the development of an open cast coal mine in our area, but we have a wide range of interests, and all of us are involved with other community and environmental groups.

We would be pleased to work with anybody in the area on any projects that make the area more sustainable, promote local awareness and development, and reduce energy consumption, fuel poverty, carbon emissions, and environmental footprint.

To give the group a social focus, we run an environmental book club which meets on the second Tuesday of every month in a pub, "The Market @ Heanor" which is on Heanor Marketplace.  We usually read one book per month, and chat about it in a pretty unstructured way.
