About

Based in a small village in the West Midlands, we are a privately owned woodland that is currently setting up a biomass gasifier with the capacity of producing 200kw of electricity, which will then be sold back to the grid as a green electric.

The business idea is working to a structured woodland management plan bringing the woodland back up to SSSI, Forestry and wildlife standard.  The woodland has not been worked for at least 60 years, which has become overgrown with a lot of self set trees, wind fall trees and scrub. The plan will consist of removing/thinning of trees and clearing of the shrub, this will help wildlife and growth of healthy trees in the woodland and also promote Special Sites of Scientific Interest (SSSI), which is on the land.

With the plan in place all timber waste (Biomass) will then be put through a gasification process which will produce a gas (Syngas) to run a generator linked to the national grid. This is a carbon neutral process as the amount of Carbon Dioxide (CO2) released when burned is equal to the amount absorbed when the tree grew. This would mean with the woodland properly managed there will be no net increase in CO2.

This process properly managed can last for many years on a sustainable basis.
