'Deal With It' is a community group active in trying to minimise impact on the environment and tackle climate change in the Dover and Deal area, in Kent UK.
This group of enthusiastic and committed local people share common values and aims with the Transition Initiatives movement, which was created to address the challenges of climate change and peak oil.

Our priorities for the Group in 2011:·
- To work towards Deal gaining ‘transition town’ status
- To support and extend the campaigns on transport and especially local train provision
- Establishing more local links with villages and other local organisations
- Re-run the ‘Celebrate Your Deal’ in October
- Launch Deal Garden Share Scheme in Feb
- Rerun our Urban Chicken Open Run
- Get our Local Green Energy community provision off the ground (working with low carbon village St Margarets)
Sucesses (so far) in 2011:
- Deal Garden Share launched
- Great meetings on Waste, Green Energy for the home
- Mega but cold Beach clean in Feb
- Great response for the 'Big Fish Fight' locally - We are the first Transition Town Group world-wide to be endorsed by a local fish & chip shop!
We meet on the 4th Tuesday of every month at Dealability, 43 Victoria Rd Deal, Kent CT14 7AY.

We have about 150 on our mailing list and meetings vary between 10-50 people.
