About

From February 2012 Transition Belper will be meeting every first Tuesday of the month at the Strutts Community Centre (Old Strutts School), 7.30pm

With a population over 20,000 living in approximately 9,800 houses we are developing an Energy Use and Carbon Reduction plan. Being a World Heritage town, due to it's importance in the start of the industrial revolution, we have mapped the Carbon consumption from 1811, 1911, through today and we are aligning with the goals currently being set by the government.

We also have a social Green Drinks get together once per month and an active Energy group involved in a number of projects.

Get involved in our Facebook page and join our Belper's Fruit & Veg forum.

Transition Belper are now an integral part of any large community event in Belper, with stalls at the Food Fairs and for the first time in 2011 we managed to open two hydro turbine systems, in Belper and Milford for the public to view as part of the Derwent Valley Mills discovery days week.
