About

Transition Town Andover currently has an emailing list of about 150 interested residents but only 10 active members who currently form the Core Group. The Core Group is our formal body dealing with funding applications, the web page, events organisation and publicity. Futhermore Transition Town Andover consists of two project groups.

The Food Group is finding local solutions to reduce Andover's food miles. The first community orchard was planted in November 2010 and hopefully many more will follow. The group is also in the process of creating a local food guide as well as a map of exsisting fruit trees and bushes. A formal request to Test Valley Borough Couctil, under the Smallholdings and Allotments Act, was made to encourage the expansion of the number of allotments, which is in the process of being followed up.

The Green Community Group has the aim to reduce the Carbon Footprint of Andover and several new projects are in planning to start this year.
