Has your local council signed up to the Covenant of Mayors?

 Our local authority is considering signing up to the "Covenant of Mayors", a European-wide cooperation initiative under which LAs voluntarily commit to increasing energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy. We (Transition Poole) have been asked what we think. Has anyone else had experience of the Covenant in practice. I gather it can lead to funding opportunities (for the council).
