Gift circles are a way to relocalize our economies and retribalize our communities. People gather regularly to share their needs and gifts. People help each other with babysitting, tutoring, bike mechanics, bodywork, graphic design as a gift (not as barter or for money exchange). Many Transition Towns in the US have been running the process.

I notice that the Transition Social Reporters are touching on the gift economy just now: http://ht.ly/a4R51

Hopefully it's an idea whose time has come (again!)
