Process through which TT come in to being and influence on the initiatives direction

Hi All,

I'm just starting to form ideas for my undergraduate Geography dissertation, the research of which will be done this summer.  I'm currently wanting to focus on the processes through which TT are formed, whether TT members are already members of exisiting social networks (and thus the impacts on diversity this has), what prompted people into starting at TT, how those who started the TT influence the direction it goes in etc. 

I want to do this in Brixton, given the fact that (from what I've read thus far), it does not seem the stereotypical place for TT to form. 

Does anyone have any tips/done any research like this before/know any literature or methods that may be useful?

Any pointers would be greatly greatly appreciated!
