Views on paid membership

We had our Annual General Chat last night (like a AGM but with more cake) and the subject of having a formal paying membership - the general feeling was people liked the loose affiliation we currently have but I was asked to find out if other TTs had more formal arrangements?

Not here in Kingston. We have also discussed it, but decided against.

I don't know of any initiatives that have paid members. A couple got close, but decided against it.
Part of the success of transition is that it has porous boundaries, and having a membership organisation works against that.
