Core team asks: what project shall we start with?

Just had this question come in yesterday...

Can you help us please?

We are a small group (in Australia) who have been meeting for over a year. Initially we had 300 people attend a visioning forum and our local council offered us funding. Even though the core group (5-10 people) meet once a week we haven't decided on a project yet, and all we do is make policy documents and talk about what we should do.

We have lost heaps of members and the local council have taken back their offer of financial support. 

So instead of having meetings we think we have to act - we need a project that 5 people can do for an hour a week. Hopefully this will help us gain members and make us more resilient.

What do you suggest?

I'll be engaging that group in figuring out what might work for them (and posting the discussions here), and if anyone else has some suggestions - add them here.
