Throughout history and in many different cultures, people have understood and used the power of the human voice to transform collective and individual consciousness: songs and poetry enable people to communicate differently with themselves, others and the world around them. In these uncertain and challenging times, organisations and individuals are increasingly seeking the means to access higher forms of consciousness to enable them to function better, and this pioneering course provides the opportunity to explore ways that direct engagement with the human voice can introduce participants to tools and skills for authentic expression and true sustainability.

Enhance your leadership and interpersonal skills through sound and voice

This course brings together two worlds that rarely intersect – sound and voice awareness and organisational development. It integrates the Seven Levels of Conscious Leadership framework (as developed by Richard Barrett) with the Seven Levels of Sound and Energy Movement (developed by Chloe Goodchild and Masashi Minagawa) to introduce easily accessible, cohesive communication skills for both individuals and teams. Using sound and voice, one can move beyond beliefs and pre-existing agendas, and build connections between the conscious and unconscious. Inspired by the experience of inclusiveness and harmony generated by all participants sharing a common voice, a new language of awareness is opened. This creates fertile ground to think afresh about strategic, organisational and personal challenges. Participants will learn ways to express their authentic voice, build trust, explore their values and access innate leadership skills within the context they work in – be it a small organisation, family or corporate setting.

Chloe Goodchild has spent over 25 years researching the transforming power of the human voice as a vehicle for authentic expression and conscious leadership. Malcolm Lewis works with people and organisations to help them identify their purpose and values, and develop ways of working that reflect their values. They are just at the beginning of this shared work in sound leadership and are excited by the opportunities that arise from combining singing with strategy.

Who is this course for?

This course is suitable for all those who want to take a fresh look at how they operate in relation to others, whether it be in a leadership role within a company, as part of a small team working on a project, or in a community or family setting.

Teachers

Chloe Goodchild

Chloe is passionate about voice and sound as a vehicle for spirit. In 1990, she founded The Naked Voice which is dedicated to the realisation of compassionate communication worldwide. Following research into the power of sound, Chloe created a method of communication and effortless expression that enables singers and non-singers alike to access their true sound. She created the “Singing Field”, a unique meeting place inspired by participative sound and song, and Rumi’s poem which became the Singing Field anthem: “Out beyond ideas of right and wrong doing, there is a field, a singing field, I’ll meet you there.” Chloe has directed and performed for world events such The Way of Peace with HH Dalai Lama in a multi-faith event in Northern Ireland, and is currently leading a year-long community-based choral project in Dublin. http://www.thenakedvoice.com/
