11am-5pm. Join the garden celebrating the annual harvest festival with an international flavour. Programme includes:
11:30am-1:30pm: Caribbean cooking demonstration and tastings by Junie James & Linton Stewart
12pm-3:30pm: Apple pressing. Bring your apples to make juice with our new apple press. If you bring some containers, you can take some juice home with you.
1pm-3pm: Face-painting, for small and big kids alike!
1:45pm: The Great Fruit & Veg Swap. Bring along your excess fruit and vegetables, jams and swap them for something you don't have. Don't worry if you don't have anything to swap, come along and pick up something new to try!
2:15pm-4:15pm: Pakistani/Bangladeshi cooking demonstration and tastings by Tahira Iqbal.
Refreshments available all day.
The Great Fruit and Veg swap: Like a plant swap, but instead people bring along the fruit and veg they have in abundance and swap it for something they don't have.
For example: you might have lots of courgettes, but not many french beans, where someone else might have lots of french beans but didn't have any luck with growing courgettes this year.
or...
You may have lots of apples on your apple tree, or access to lots of blackberries near where you live or on your allotment, and you could bring these along and swap them for something you don't have.
You can also bring along jams and chutneys you have made and can swap them for fruit and vegetables.
