Embedding html into posts

This is a quick guide for people with Site editing rights to embed HTML code into their posts

1. Choose 'full html' from the 'Input format' drop down option below the editor.

I also put a lot of capital Xs in the normal text in the editor before switching to HTML view so I can find my place more easily later

2.Click on the 'HTML' button in the top bar of the WYSIWYG editor (next to the apostrophes)

The html code with pop up in front of the normal editing screen. Find the place you want to place your embedded media (using the handy XXXs you put in in step 1).

3. Clear a bit of space for yourself to work in and add the html embed code

NB: clearing space in the html editor will not affect the post, and give you some space among all the clod of code. Be VERY careful not to chop off bits of code like '<' or your post will look weird later.

4. Remove the XXXXs markers if you put them in, and click 'update'

Then you go back to the normal editing screen where you should see a block where the embed is. You will not see the embedded media until you submit the post.

Don't forget to choose to 'not send notifications' if you are editing a lot!
